The Embrace Blue logo

If you’re wondering….

The Embrace Blue logo was an emergent and intuitive representation of my business values and hopes. I had a clear idea that, of course, the ocean must be represented, in which we find metaphor and meaning working in blue space.

The bird was a heartfelt addition, for me a representational symbol of freedom, expression, and finding a voice and direction for flourishing and fulfilment. Swift or skylark I’m not certain... Skylarks are birds which ignite such joy in me, a continuous song from a little one that looks in many ways so ordinary, yet making a big impression on the world around it. Swifts have a sky-dance that’s impressive, a delightful chatter, rarely landing on the ground and constantly on the move.

And the most intuitive bit remains: a shell symbolises the journey of life in many cultures. It also seems to have direction, both inward towards the centre and outward in a way that almost blossoms, and in some places it is called a cockleflower. It is in diving deep that we truly find our real selves, and allow that uniqueness to inform what we do in the most authentic way. Shells are among the most remarkable designs in nature - like us, no two are the same - and perceived as symbols of life and regeneration.

The scallop shell is a symbol of light, wisdom, protection and connection to the ocean. Celtic cultures saw in the scallop’s shape a representation of balance, growth and opportunity, the ridged grooves representative of waves on the shore, reminding us of our connectedness to the universal cycle of life, and their pattern a reminder to live life mindfully, each moment at a time.

I wonder which part resonates most at this point in your journey?
